We are hunting Lynx, Gray Wolf, Canada Lynx and Northwestern Wolf.
Costs from $4,000 to $4,000.

Description

From December through February, lynx hunting in British Columbia offers a true northern wilderness experience. The hunt operates out of a main house, providing a warm, comfortable base while accessing the surrounding backcountry.

Hunters use trucks to reach remote areas, then switch to snowmobiles and tracked side-by-sides to navigate deep snow and rugged terrain. Each day starts early, with guides scouting for fresh lynx tracks and sign.

Once in promising areas, predator calls are used to lure lynx in, mimicking the sounds of distressed prey to draw the cats into range. This is a spot-and-call style hunt that demands patience, mobility, and keen observation.

With breathtaking winter landscapes and the challenge of pursuing one of Canada's most elusive predators, a BC lynx hunt is both rugged and rewarding.

What to Expect

Lynx hunting in the winter is a unique and challenging experience that combines patience, skill, and an understanding of the animal's behavior in cold, snowy conditions. Here's what to expect when using predator calls during a winter lynx hunt:

⸻

  1. Cold, Remote Conditions Expect cold temperatures, deep snow, and remote terrain. Most hunts are based out of a main house with daily access to the backcountry using trucks, snowmobiles, and tracked side-by-sides. Layered clothing, good boots, and proper gear are essential for staying warm and comfortable during long days outside.

⸻

  1. Early Mornings and Long Days Hunting days typically begin at first light. You'll spend time glassing, checking for fresh lynx tracks, and covering ground to locate sign. Patience is key, as lynx are elusive and often move through an area quickly and quietly.

⸻

  1. Use of Predator Calls Once fresh tracks or a likely area is found, you'll set up and use predator calls-usually mimicking snowshoe hare or other distress sounds. Lynx are curious hunters, and if conditions are right, they may approach silently. You'll need to remain completely still and alert, as they often appear without warning.

⸻

  1. Quiet, Still Setups Calling sessions can last 20–45 minutes or longer, depending on the area and conditions. Staying still and avoiding movement is crucial, as lynx have excellent eyesight and hearing. Often, they will silently stalk in and watch before committing.

⸻

  1. Low-Volume, High-Stakes Lynx hunting is typically a low-volume hunt. Success depends on timing, snow conditions, and the lynx's behavior. Hunters may go days between sightings, but each encounter is intense and rewarding.

⸻

  1. A Unique and Rewarding Challenge This is a hunt for those who enjoy a challenge and appreciate the quiet beauty of the winter wilderness. When a lynx comes to the call, it's a thrilling moment-steeped in silence, snow, and raw instinct.

⸻

Final Tip: Bring quality optics, warm gear, and a lot of patience. Success comes from persistence, good calling setups, and being ready when the moment finally arrives.

Physical Requirements

Lynx hunting using predator calls is one of the less physically demanding big game hunts. Most of the hunting is done from a base location using trucks, snowmobiles, or side-by-sides to cover ground. Once fresh tracks are found, hunters set up in a likely area and call from a stationary position.

There's minimal hiking involved, and most movement is done through riding and short walks in the snow. As long as you're dressed properly for winter conditions, this hunt is comfortable and very manageable for most fitness levels.
