With almost 70% of Europe's total population of the brown bear, Romania is without doubt European Capital of Brown Bear; here you can hunt in the wild Carpathian Mountains, and also have a lifetime experience. In 1985, Romania exceeded its own world record for the brown bear fur with a trophy of 687,79 CIC points. They are amongst the largest living carnivores and can grow to an enormous size, male body length is between 217-260 cm, height at withers 110-135 cm and up to 450kg, and females to 400kg, with the biggest on record being caught in Romania weighing 480kg. Viștea • Chamois (rupicapra rupicapra): the name of the chamois generically refers to both genders. The male is called the he-chamois; the female chamois and a chick up to 10 months is called hen. In the Romanian Carpathian Mountains, the biggest chamois in the whole word can be found; the chamois in Romania can only be found in the Carpathian Mountains area. The world record of 141.1 CIC points was awarded to Romania in 1937, as well as 7 of the top 10 trophies of the world. Since 1990, more trophies with more than 120 CIC points have been awarded, but the most common and most popular were more than 110 CIC points for he-chamois and over 105 CIC points for chamois. The male length of the trunk with the head is 110-130 cm, the height at the withers 70-80 cm and the weight between 40 and 60 kg alive. Cooperstown • Leatherstocking Guide Service is based in Central New York and the town of Milford which is about 10 miles south of the Baseball Hall of Fame and Cooperstown. We lease private land and have over 6000 acres available to hunt. The country here is a mix of farms, hardwood ridges and stands of hemlocks. We have lots of deer and big flocks of turkeys. Our DMP unit (4F) is open to rifle hunting and hunters are usually able to receive doe tags if you apply in the summer. We have over 100 treestands and ground blinds, and our guide service involves getting you to a pre-selected area and stand which is yours to hunt through the day. The guide does not stay with you, but we have aerial photos of each farm which we share with you. Lodging is provided in private homes on all hunts, as is breakfast. You are on your own for lunch and dinner and Cooperstown is only 15 minutes up the road!

Musselshell • We do more deer hunts than any other animal and we do very well with them. We are almost 100% for success on deer with a gun or bow. We offer whitetail as well as mule deer for both rifle and archery. We hunt elk during the rut, with the bugle, spot and stalk, decoys and stands. There are some great genetics in our elk here. Every year a couple of four hundred-plus bulls come out of these hills. Maybe that's why they call our area the Bull Mountains. If you've never been west before, an antelope hunt is a great place to start. It is a reasonably priced three-day hunt, rifle or bow. For our bow hunting, we use blinds, waterholes and decoys and have taken many Pope and Young bucks. There has been quite an interest in buffalo hunts for the past few years. We have a local ranch where the buffalo are as free-range as they can get on a ranch. You will be hunting in 10,000 to 15,000 acre pastures.
